James Pritchett lives and paints in Los Angeles.
He studied painting and illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
‘Painting is one of the few things that keeps me in a tranquil state. When I’m in the flow with a strong piece, the state is more continuous. Basically, I feel compelled to paint.
My process varies. Each canvas evolves. I believe that an artwork’s main purposes is to grapple with an issue—internal, societal—and to expand the thinking of those who engage with it. I hope my body of work encourages people to reflect on how they respond to some of life’s important challenges, both internal and external.’
